Personality: Mohinder is smart and always looking for solutions. He is often single-minded to the point of obsession when he is chasing a goal or result - or creating. Given primarily to logic, he is no stranger to creative thinking - he is a man who, in his canon, has a background in both philosophy and genetics; he believes in being well-rounded.
He doesn't necessarily have street smarts and tends to live mostly in his head. He can be impetuous, especially when angry or extremely upset; anything that tips his emotional scales, and that is when he's most likely to lose his head. He has a protective streak and a guilt complex. He tries to be a good friend and a good son. He likes good music and art, and cherishes intelligent conversation. He plays a wicked game of chess. He hates needless violence, arrogance, and anyone, ever, talking down to him.

History: Mohinder grew up in Chennai in a small family; a loving mother and a doting - if distant - father. His sister Shanti was never known to Mohinder - she died from a particular viral attack and this, in many ways, shaped Mohinder's relationship with his father: the son desperate to impress, for praise and attention, the father gun-shy after the loss of a child and unwilling to risk hurt again.

A fairly comfortable life despite occasional familial discord, Mohinder followed his father to the University of Madras and studied philosophy before moving into genetics and human biology. His focus became his father's work - ridiculed and dismissed by the wider scientific community - and he worked teaching at the university to offset his research with his father, Chandra - taking over in India when his father left for America, claiming he had found a way to find 'them' - people with extra abilities.

When the news came that Chandra had died, Mohinder came to America to honor his father's memory and continue his research in New York City. What he found was that his father truly had been murdered due to the sensitive nature of his work - and Mohinder's whole world changed. It became a race against time; discover what Chandra knew, and more, before Mohinder was hunted down, too - before these other people with abilities were targeted by these killings. He started to reach out to the world and it reached out to him, in turn - he became close to Eden, morally grey but who sacrificed herself to slow down Sylar, serial killer; Peter Petrelli; Matt Parkman, and others - all while trying to discover Sylar's true identity and defeat him.

After New York almost blew up - saved from this fate thanks to Peter and Nathan Petrelli - and now that Mohinder is taking care of orphan, gifted Molly - he is trying to find out more about the mysterious Company that has so much knowledge about these people. He's just about to join them from the inside... see what he can do to help from there. With Noah Bennet as an ally, he thinks he might have a chance to make a difference. Honor Chandra's memory. Help.

In-Game History: Mohinder's parents, both possessing doctorates, moved to America in their late twenties and settled in Harmony. Mohinder, their second child, was born into a happy and affluent home, and he grew to love Harmony. He excelled at his schooling and dove into extra-curricular activities with a passion: he took up debate and painting, and was never bored, never without a book or a canvas or something to do - a bundle of energy, easily occupied.

While he had always thought of going into medicine, he decided at zero hour during his senior year of highschool to teach instead - to work with minds rather than bodies, he told his parents. Now, of course, it seems like a lucky move, with the trouble with the medical industry in Harmony. He has a comfortable little life, a good rapport with his students, and he's utterly comfortable and happy.
